Toronto – December 13, 2021 – Today has been designated UFCW Canada Day by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) in recognition of the valuable contributions made by UFCW Canada members to help find a cure to blood cancers.
“Your generous support has helped to fuel what once seemed impossible – research that saves more lives, and critical programs that assist people at every step of their blood cancer experience,” says LLSC President Alicia Talarico. “Without UFCW Canada members, Local Unions and allies, there would be fewer scientific breakthroughs and less support services available to those newly diagnosed, people in treatment, and those navigating life after a blood cancer. We are truly grateful for everything you have done and continue to do in support of our mission.”
Over the past three decades, the UFCW family of activists and Local Unions have raised over $47.2 million and continue to be the largest annual source of fundraising for the life-changing and lifesaving work of the LLSC.
