Food processing members at ADM secure new contract – UFCW 401

Calgary – February 7, 2022 – UFCW 401 members at Archer-Daniels-Midland Company recently secured a new contract increases wages by 10% over four-years, in addition to shift-premiums and an increased contribution to the local’s training and education fund.

“This was a very difficult round of contract negotiations with the employer and their reluctance in changing the status quo,” says Lead Negotiator Devin Yeager. “Only through the hard work of committee members and the combined strength of the membership were we able to move the employer towards addressing our concerns and securing the necessary improvements.”

The new contract also provides National Truth and Reconciliation Day as a paid statutory holiday, in addition to a host of other provisions that strengthens language and union visibility. The contract will be applied retroactively from the date of expiry of the last agreement.
