Vaccine clinics for grocery store workers begin in Vancouver Coastal Health region

UFCW Local 247 was advised  that Covid-19 vaccine clinics for grocery store workers are beginning in Vancouver, Richmond, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver (the Vancouver Coastal Health region).

Please remember, to get the vaccine, it is up to each individual to register, and you can do so by clicking here.

The message from Vancouver Coastal Health states: “Vancouver Coastal Health is able to invite grocery store staff who are working in Vancouver, Richmond, and on the North Shore to first-dose COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week. These clinics will be offering the AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD vaccine to those staff aged 30 years and older.”

"Grocery store workers have been declared essential workers during the pandemic," said Dan Goodman, interim president of UFCW Local 247, "and the union has been lobbying for a vaccination program to get underway, so this is welcome news."

"It's a relief for our members in the stores," said Goodman, "and given their essential worker designation, we are expecting that other health regions in the province will follow suit with vaccination clinics for grocery workers as well."
If you live in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, please click here to register.
