June 16, 2026 – Surrey, BC – UFCW Local 247 has reached a tentative agreement with Sobeys on wage review negotiations affecting UFCW Local 247 members working in the Meat, Deli, and Seafood departments at Safeway locations across BC.

We will be putting these improvements to a ratification vote, and our bargaining committee is recommending members vote YES to approve the changes.

Our UFCW Local 247 bargaining committee invites all UFCW Local 247 members working at Safeway to attend a special virtual information session, where we’ll cover the outcome of wage review negotiations and answer any questions they may have.

The information session is happening on Monday, June 22nd at 7pm through an online webinar. UFCW Local 247 members can register to attend the Information Session here.

There will also be a ratification vote held from June 23 at 9 AM PT to June 25 at Noon PT. This vote will be held online through a secure, third-party voting platform.
