Loblaw’s Bargaining: Strike Vote Results

To all members employed at Loblaw’s Superstore and Distribution Centres, the strike vote has concluded and the ballots have been counted.

The members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike by 97%.

Thank you to all of you who have voted, every vote counts and your support for the strike mandate was a necessaryto tell the Company that unless they bargain fairly, the employees could withdraw their labour. This is an important tool to push Loblaw to come back to the table and this strong mandate sends Loblaw a strong message about their last offer.

The strike vote saw a strong turnout from Loblaw union members across the province. We have notified the Company of the results and the pressure is now on the Company to return to the table.

We want to remind you that a strike vote is valid for 3 months after the date of the vote and that the Union is only required to serve 72 hours’ notice of strike action to the Company.

Please check back regularly for new updates. We will keep you informed of any developments as they become available.
