A special 'Thank You' to everyone who helped make A special 'Thank You' to everyone who helped make this year’s Shoe Memorial a meaningful and powerful event. To all our union and community members who donated shoes, shared stories, volunteered their time, and supported the cause—your generosity helped honour the lives of women, girls and gender-diverse people lost to violence. We extend our gratitude to our guest speakers @lorelei.williams, @jenniferwhitesidenewwest, and @susibcfedprez for their courage and commitment to raising awareness. Your voices made this year’s memorial especially impactful.Thank you for standing with us, remembering with us, and helping keep this important work alive.

On this International Day of Persons with Disabili On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we join with other organizations around the world in fostering disability inclusive workplaces.Part of that means transforming our perceptions about what being affected by a disability "looks like." Quite often, however, the challenges our coworkers face are not so visible.Neurodiversity, the different ways in which our brains are wired, impacts how we are able to function in society, including at work. While this sometimes may require accommodation on the part of employers and coworkers, it always requires us starting from being understanding of each other. When we break through the stigma and assumptions about what it means to be affected by a disability, we build more accessible and inclusive workplaces.
