Toronto – October 30, 2026 – UFCW Canada is proud to announce a new educational partnership with Simon Fraser University (SFU), creating another pathway for our members and their families to turn their learning into recognized university credit.
Through a new transfer credit agreement, eligible webCampus courses can count toward SFU’s Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies, Minor in Labour Studies, or Certificate in Workplace Rights. The partnership reflects a shared commitment between UFCW Canada and SFU to educate working people about their labour rights and create meaningful opportunities for workers and their families to continue their education.
Students who successfully complete eligible webCampus courses may receive up to 12 SFU transfer units. Every 45 hours of successfully completed eligible webCampus courses can qualify for 3 SFU units, to a maximum of 12 units. This means learning completed through webCampus can help eligible students make progress toward an SFU Labour Studies credential before they even begin their university studies. Transfer credits may be applied toward a Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies, a Labour Studies minor or a Certificate in Workplace Rights.
More than 30 webCampus learning opportunities qualify, including courses in leadership, stewardship, collective bargaining, arbitration, human rights, communication, workplace issues, political action, Indigenous rights, gender-based violence and labour activism.
