December 4, 2025 — UFCW Local 247 members at Your Independent Grocer on Davie Street in Vancouver have voted to ratify a new collective agreement by a margin of 78%.

Some of the key provisions of the new agreement include:

• Wage scale improvements and bonuses for members
• New provisions to give members greater control over their shifts
• A much shorter benefit eligibility period
• Increases to the night shift lead hand premium

“When we make improvements to the collective agreement,” said UFCW Local 247 Union Representative Johnny Khakh, “we strengthen the rights and protections for all members going forward.”
