Big smiles, holiday cheer, and plenty of movie magic filled our Children’s Christmas Movie Events across the province! Thank you to all the union families who joined us and helped kick off the holiday season in such a fun and festive way—especially our youngest movie fans!We’re also grateful for the generous food bank donations from our members. Your kindness and solidarity are making a meaningful difference in communities across the province.

Migration is a profound expression of courage and hope, and it is most often not a choice at all. To leave one's home - for work or for safety - is an incredibly difficult experience, one that is conveniently overlooked in the narratives being spun to foment division among working people.On this International Migrants Day, as food workers in Canada, let's reflect on how so much of our food system relies on the work of migrants and how difficult those conditions continue to be. When we fight for the rights of migrants, we also uphold our own.For a close examination of this topic, we can't recommend enough Min Sook Lee's transformational 2003 documentary, El Contrato, available for free here through the National Film Board: https://www.nfb.ca/film/el_contrato/
