The majority of UFCW Local 247 members are covered by one of two Pension Plans:

1) The UFCW Union Pension Plan

Local 247 members employed at Canada Safeway, Overwaitea/Save-On-Foods, IGA, some Extra Foods, JS McMillan, Stong's, Super-Valu.

Recent events have increased the uncertainty and volatility in all markets and will no doubt result in you wondering about the security of your pension. The majority of the UFCW Union Pension Plan's (the "Plan") assets are invested in high quality bonds in the Canadian market. A small portion of the assets is invested in the stock market. Accordingly, the Plan's assets as a whole have been virtually unaffected by the recent declines in global equity markets.


2) The Canadian Commercial Workers Industry Pension Plan (CCWIPP)

Local 247 members employed at Superstore, Centennial Foods, some Extra Foods, Lawrence Meats, Versacold-Derwent, Western Grocers, Wholesale Club.
