Poultry workers settle

Poultry workers at Dunn-Rite Food Products settled a labour dispute this week by ratifying a new three-year contract with wage increases of 9.5 per cent over the life of the deal, says the workers' union, the United Food and Commercial Workers.

The contract, ratified Monday, covers 200 workers at the food processing plant located at 199 Hamelin Rd.in Winnipeg, the union said in an announcement.

In addition to wage increases, the contract with Dunn Rite also includes a signing bonus of $300 for every workers and a boot allowance of $125. a year.

The contract is retroactive to July 1, and union president Robert Ziegler called it "very strong, with lots of improvements."
