National Boycott of Petro-Canada

Canadian Labour Congress President Ken Georgetti announced a full national boycott of Petro-Canada last Tuesday in Montreal while speaking at the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) Convention.

Petro-Canada has locked out members of the CEP Local 175 for nearly an entire year at the Petro-Canada Montreal refinery.

"It’s absolutely shameful that Petro-Canada – a corporation that has made over $9 billion in profits in the past five years would lock out 260 of its own- valued workers for so long to try and win concessions!" Georgetti said.

And this is what we are going to ask every single member of every union in this country to do, boycott Petro-Canada from now until this dispute is settled and every locked-out CEP member is back on the job.
