Long Time Member James "Reg" Godard Passes Away

We are sad to announce that James "Reg" Godard, a long time UFCW Local 2000 and 247 members has tragically passed away. Reg was a member with UFCW and an Overwaitea Foods employee since 1989 and always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was a members of the Negotiating Committee for the last contract and active as a Shop Steward. Reg recently completed a ride in support of the Childrens Hospital and the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made there.

In loving memory of Reggie who was taken from us suddenly while doing what he loved. He is predeceased by his mother Kay and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joy; daughter Krystel (Kyle); grandchildren Andrew and Tyler; father James; and siblings Walter, Dennis, Donna (Wayne), Vern and June (Mark). Reggie will be remembered for his passion for his Union UFCW local 247 brothers and sisters, realizing his dream of obtaining a turkey quota from BC Turkey Marketing Board, his commitment to raising funds for BC Children's Hospital and so much more. A Celebration of Reggie's Life will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home 14660 72 Avenue, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reggie's memory to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.
