Strike Votes for Fruit Industry Members
After receiving a comprehensive offer from the Employer, the negotiating committee representing Local 247 members employed by the Okanagan Tree Fruit Cooperative has decided to ask the members for a strike mandate and show the Company that the offer is unacceptable. Both sides came into negotiations after the current agreement had been "rolled over" the last two years with small increases. Discussions centered over how the agreement would be structured to meet the needs of the new Company after the amalgamation took place last year.
