Hearings Continue at Labour Relations Board

Local 247 has now completed 8 days of hearings at the Labour Relations Board.  The 4 most recent days were held from April 1st to 4th.

Both Local 247 and Overwaitea Foods have now completed their cases regarding the Local 247 unfair labour practise complaint that was filed by the union in February 2006 after Overwaitea Foods began converting Save-On-Foods stores to PriceSmart Foods.

Closing arguments and arguments regarding remedies have not yet been made with respect to the unfair labour practise complaint.

Lawyers for Jim Pattison Limited are still considering their position regarding the Local 1518 application to add Jim Pattison Limited to the corporate restructuring case that has yet to be heard in front of the labour relations board.

Local 247 is hoping that this delay will be short and that closing arguments and arguments for possible remedies, regarding the unfair labour practice, will be heard within the month.
