IGA Negotiations on Hold

The company met briefly with the Local 247 bargaining committee and staff representative Bruce Jackson on Thursday January 30th and advised the union of the following.

  1. The proposed settlement agreement for the HY Louie Warehouse was rejected by the Teamsters Union.
  2. The company has put the 4 corporate stores out for sale and it is unknown at this time if there is any interest from anyone to purchase these locations.

Local 247 President Suzanne Hodge stated that until such time as the Teamsters contract and possible dispute is resolved, that Local 247 will be taking a prudent approach and will not attempt to begin any bargaining. The company has not indicated to Local 247 that they are even interested in pursuing bargaining at this time.

We will be speaking to our members in the stores over the remainder of this week and will advise them of any new information when are made aware of it.
