What we're about:

Getting women interested in:

  • their unions
  • politics (running for school boards, labour councils), etc.
  • becoming involved in their community
  • attending courses to broaden their understanding of the Labour movement
  • encourage more young women to become active
  • network across the province about the Women's Committee and their function within the Union
We help with:
  • Leukemia Research functions
  • Collect toiletries at Union events for Transition Houses and Teen Pregnancy Centre
  • Have worked with Vancouver Rape and Crisis Centre
  • Promote and participate in the White Ribbon Campaign
  • Election campaigns - phone banks
  • Participate in International Women's Day
  • Local 247 and 1518 have combined in the past to put on some kind of event for International Women's Day
